Main Beach is where most Byron visitors first meet the ocean on a board, and Let's Go Surfing has been the operation making that happen for a long time. Lessons run from the sand at Byron's most accessible break, which is forgiving enough for beginners and consistent enough to actually get people to their feet. Group lessons keep the price reasonable at this level, and instructors work the water rather than watching from shore. The vibe is social and high-energy, which suits the location. Without recent reviews to draw on, it's hard to call standout instructors by name, but the school's longevity and Main Beach positioning speak for themselves. If you're after a quieter, more private session, ask about smaller group options when you book.

What People Say
We had a fantastic surfing lesson experience with Byron. He was very informative and the lesson was fun. Booking process was easy and the team were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend booking your lesson with these guys, we plan to come back for sure!!
I put my two sons (17 & 14) in for a group lesson. Excellent experience! Lovely and helpful instructors with a relaxed and fun vibe. Very short walk from the shop to the main beach. Both the boys got up and riding small waves within an hour.
Huge thanks to Guido and David! My wife and I had the best time today trying surfing for the first time. We were both nervous and excited, but they made us feel super comfortable right away. They were patient, fun, and really knew how to explain things in a way that made it easy to learn. We even managed to stand up a lot of times! The whole vibe was super chill and friendly - just an awesome experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to give surfing a try! 🌊🏄♀️
Sam and David were the most amazing instructors for a first time surfer like me! They gave the best brief beforehand which made me feel so comfortable when it was time to get in the water! Even managed to stand up a few times which I think is down to their coaching skills!! The best couple of hours thanks guys :)
Luke was amazing at helping our kids (aged 7, 10, 12 and 14) feel comfortable and become competent in surfing the conditions at Byron. Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm
