The southern end of Byron Bay has its own rhythm, and Suffolk Bakery fits it well. Tucked into a low-key industrial strip on Clifford Street, this is the neighbourhood spot for Suffolk Park locals who'd rather not deal with the Byron town centre circus. The range runs to freshly baked loaves, pastries, and the kind of counter food that makes sense at 7am or 11am equally. Pricing sits in the accessible mid-range, which is rarer than it should be around here. Without a deep review trail to draw from, the honest read is this: it's a local bakery doing what a local bakery should, in a suburb that genuinely needed one. Worth a stop if you're staying south of town.
YUM! We had the steak and peppercorn pie, the rosemary meat pie and the chocolate crossoint… YUMMMMM GREAT welcoming atmosphere and so much to choose from! A must visit Also a short walk to the beach
We’ve travelled from Port Douglas, around the coast to Adelaide and up to Alice Springs and in our opinion this place produces the best Pies in Australia. Crispy pastry, with a fully filled with a succulent filling. We had the chunky beef pie and the lamb with rosemary. Can’t be beaten. Congratulations guys 👏
Not only is the best coffee in Byron area, it’s the best coffee I’ve ever tasted!!! The girls who work here have great energy and put a smile on my face when I come here each morning

Byron Bay
Corner of Jonson Street, Folk is the kind of all-day café that earns its place through good bones rather than spectacle. Warm timbers, honest café fare, mid-range pricing, and a front-row seat to Byron's main strip.

Byron Bay
Tucked into Jonson Lane, away from the main-street circus, Bang Bang keeps things casual and affordable. The kind of spot that rewards locals who know their way around the back streets of Byron.

Wategos Beach
Directly above the sand at Wategos Beach, Raes Dining Room is Byron's most location-loaded fine dining address. Mediterranean-leaning seafood, full-occasion pricing, and a room that makes the most of one of the coast's prettiest coves. Book the terrace.
I was staying in Suffolk Park for a few days and tried the bakery for my lunch. I was so impressed by the coffee and above all by the super friendly staff that I went there every morning for my coffee. And as a stranger, to be greeted each morning by my name, I was impressed. The coffee was always tasty, mostly artistic. The fresh, flaky croissants taste as good as they do in France. Next time I stay in Suffolk Park, I will definitely be back to the bakery. There’s a generally positive and relaxed vibe that goes with locals knowing they’re on to a good thing.
This was a great stop. Based on the amount of people that came while we ate breakfast this is clearly a local favourite too. The staff are friendly and quick. Harriet was a delight. Great range. Lots of Vegan options too if your looking for it. Quiches were really nice. Husband had Beef, bacon and cheese pie - it was lovely, nice pastry, good size. Coffee was amazing and a local bean too. Chocolate Croissant was amazing, not just chocolate shoved in the middle but multi layered to a light and fluffy perfection. The carrot cake was divine, dense, moist and good proportions of icing to cake.
