Out on Bangalow Road, away from the flip-flop shuffle of town, The Roadhouse operates at a different pace. The format is casual, the price point is mid-range, and the crowd skews local rather than tourist. Without a deep well of reviews to draw from, it's hard to call a standout dish, but the positioning suggests straightforward, unfussy food done with some care. Think roadside diner energy with a Byron sensibility: good produce, relaxed service, no dress code required. It sits in that useful middle ground between a quick lunch and a proper sit-down, which makes it a reliable stop if you're heading in from Bangalow or out toward the hinterland. Worth checking their current menu before you make a special trip.
Came here for dinner on a one night trip, food and cocktails were delicious! Better than a lot of food I’ve had at hatted restaurants, unique flavours that worked so well, everything was 10/10. Service was also spectacular, better than any service we’ve had in Sydney. We loved it so much we came back for breakfast the next morning and were equally impressed with the delicious breakfast options and unique coffee brews. Pancakes were insanely good!! If you are visiting Byron you have to come here!!!
Came down here for the weekend and the vibe is unmatchable. Staff were so accommodating, live music added to the welcoming atmosphere and the food was so delicious. Since finding out I was lactose free it’s been impossible to find a pizza I’ve actually enjoyed. I mentioned this to the staff and they recommended subbing cashew cheese for mozzarella and I am beyond impressed. We had the gambero (seafood pizza) wood fired pizza and wow, I would recommend this if you’re lactose intolerant/vegan or even just to try.

Wategos Beach
Directly above the sand at Wategos Beach, Raes Dining Room is Byron's most location-loaded fine dining address. Mediterranean-leaning seafood, full-occasion pricing, and a room that makes the most of one of the coast's prettiest coves. Book the terrace.

Byron Bay
Tucked into Jonson Lane, away from the main-street circus, Bang Bang keeps things casual and affordable. The kind of spot that rewards locals who know their way around the back streets of Byron.

Byron Bay
Corner of Jonson Street, Folk is the kind of all-day café that earns its place through good bones rather than spectacle. Warm timbers, honest café fare, mid-range pricing, and a front-row seat to Byron's main strip.

Here are ten worth your morning, from the coffee purists on Lawson Street to the hinterland quiet of Possum Creek.
Byron Bay works best for families when you stop trying to do it the way you did it before kids. The right beach depends on the age of your children. The right timing depends on the activity. This itinerary covers the lighthouse walk, a kayak at dawn, the best dinner on the coast, and a day trip to Brunswick Heads, without turning the whole thing into a checklist. Here is how to use 72 hours well.

I can totally say that it's one of the best places in Byron! Not only has the food improved heaps, but the service you get from the waiters, especially Addo, makes you feel so special and cared for. Great vibes for a nice cocktail any day of the week, and the relaxed morning atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to work.. it truly has it all!
Great place with fantastic staff. The food was just what we needed on our travels. Beautiful location and great drinks too. Looking forward to passing through on the way back! 😄
We visited The Roadhouse in Byron Bay, and from the moment we arrived, Chef Pedro and Mel, made us feel so at home. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even letting our little pet Luna come in with us, which was very kind. The food was just amazing. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There's a real focus on quality ingredients and simplicity done to perfection. It was such a good experience that we had to go back the next morning for breakfast. As a coffee lover, I can honestly say their coffee is the best in town. Rich, smooth, and made with real care. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and relaxed, the perfect Byron Bay vibe. If you’re looking for great food, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality (plus a pet-friendly touch!), The Roadhouse is an absolute must. Thanks again, Chef Pedro and Mel. We’ll definitely be back!
