The glow room alone is worth the detour. Noosa Regional Gallery runs a serious contemporary program, with exhibitions spanning local, national, and international artists, but it earns its family-friendly reputation through hands-on spaces that keep kids genuinely occupied: shadow puppets, a Lego room, and a caravan installation drawn from a children's book. The main galleries rotate through painting, photography, and video work, with public programs including artist talks and masterclasses. NAIDOC weekends have drawn particular praise, with Kabi Kabi cultural experiences adding real depth to a visit. The gift shop carries pottery, jewellery, and books worth browsing. One caveat: exhibition changeovers mean occasional closures, and the website hasn't always kept pace. Check before you make the trip.
For the school holidays we made an unplanned stop here and ended up spending 2hrs here. So much fun for the kids - glow room, shadow puppets, caravan play (based on artwork from a kids book) & Lego room. A great place to kill time on a rainy day
Lovely space to experience and enjoy art with family. They also have a gift shop with beautiful pottery, jewelries, books, toys for souvenir or for keepsake.
My family and our friends that we visited the gallery with had an awesome morning that stretched to the afternoon. So many engaging aspects for various agreed children to explore in their own ways. Really encouraged creative thinking and observation based learning through testing things out. Very colourful and adding NAIDOC themes to our chosen weekend to visit was just perfect. Kerry and Dan Neill from Tribal Link are fun and rich in cultural protocol that means alot to connecting to Kabi Kabi culture. Loved that Wahwah was there for the cultural sharing experience outside.

Margo once called a sold-out K'gari tour back until a spot opened, then rang the visitor to tell them. The beach wheelchair loan programme gets people into the surf who thought that wasn't possible anymore. Staffed by volunteers who actually know Noosa. Start here.

The circular lookout at the top of Viewland Drive frames Noosa Heads, Lake Cooroibah, and the ranges beyond Cooroy in a single sweep. Arrive early for sunset; the small carpark fills fast and the view is worth the margin.

I’m sure that it is a beautiful gallery, but it was a real shame to walk almost an hour to get there only to find that the gallery was closed. I appreciate that there needs to be a period of closure for a changeover of exhibitions, but surely this could have been updated or made clear on either the gallery website, or on instagram?
Not sure why the ratings are so high, maybe didn't come at the right time. Sorry to say but pretty boring from my perspective. What you see in the photo is what you get. It's a shame cause the gallery is nice - it just needs some more variety of artists and mediums.

The tide surges into hollowed granite below and churns like something boiling. Just 300 metres from the Noosa National Park entrance, fully paved and accessible, with dolphins, surfers, and Laguna Bay spread out beneath you. Park near Hastings Street if you're visiting on a weekend.
