Forty-five acres of coastal wetland and rainforest sit between the highway and the sea, and Elements of Byron occupies all of it. The resort's private beach access, lagoon pool, and spa position it firmly at the quieter, more considered end of Byron's accommodation spectrum. Villas are freestanding and oriented toward the trees rather than each other, which is the point. This is not the town-centre scene. Bayshore Drive is a ten-minute drive from the main strip, and that distance is the product. Rates reflect the scale and the setting, so arrive with expectations calibrated accordingly. For families or groups wanting space without the festival-weekend chaos of central Byron, the configuration of interconnecting villas makes practical sense. Book well ahead for school holidays.
We recently spent two nights at Elements of Byron for our 20th wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and looked after. The resort is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and designed in a way that makes you instantly relax. Our villa was spotless, modern and incredibly comfortable, with all the little touches that make a special occasion feel even more memorable. We loved wandering the grounds, enjoying the pool areas, and taking quiet walks down to the beach—it all felt private and effortless. Every interaction with the team was friendly and professional, and the food and drinks across the resort were consistently excellent. It was exactly the kind of escape we were hoping for: calm, luxurious and completely stress‑free. A fantastic location and a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommended.
We loved the resort, you automatically relax. We ventured out for the morning to see town, but it was the afternoon relaxing by the adult pool that was the highlight. The food was delicious, and the cocktails too. We will definitely be back.

Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Byron Bay
Set back from the main strip on Butler Street, Glen Villa Resort trades on tropical gardens, a pool, and self-contained rooms that work better for a week than a weekend. Quieter than central Byron, walkable to everything that isn't.

Byron Bay
Byron will eat your budget alive if you let it. But the bones of a genuinely cheap trip are still here. The lighthouse walk is free and worth waking up for. The tacos on Byron Street are the most honest meal in town. Here is what to do, where to eat, and what to skip entirely.
Eight kilometres south of Byron's centre, Broken Head Nature Reserve offers coastal rainforest, an unpatrolled beach, and a carpark that fits thirty cars. This is the quieter, slower version of Byron that most visitors drive past on the way somewhere else. A guide for travellers who know what they are looking for.
Byron Bay attracts travellers who care how lightly they tread. But do the places they sleep actually share that value? From certified carbon-neutral rainforest properties to a holiday park at the foot of Cape Byron Lighthouse, here are the eco-friendly stays that earn the label, across every price point.
Wategos is where Byron Bay stops performing and starts being itself. A north-facing cove beneath the Cape Byron headland, it draws a quieter, wealthier crowd, holds one of the region's better longboard waves, and sits just far enough from the main strip to feel like a different place entirely. Here is how to visit it properly.
Byron Bay's ocean views range from a fine dining terrace directly above Wategos Beach to a free windswept lookout at the easternmost point of mainland Australia. This guide covers the best restaurants, accommodation, and experiences for every budget, with honest notes on what each view actually delivers.
My husband and I came for our 23rd Anniversary and i must say this place was amazing the bungalow we stayed in exceeded all our expectations. A perfect blend of comfort and luxury - I would highly recommend this place. The staff of elements was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Exceptional service! Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay The buffet breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again.
I stayed at Elements of Byron for three nights in mid December and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The villa was beautifully appointed, and the kitchenette (including Nespresso machine) was particularly well designed and practical when it came to making breakfast in the room during the stay. A real bonus is the convenience of having a local IGA, bakery, and bottle shop all within easy walking distance of the resort. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous—lush, immaculately maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The beachfront location is stunning, offering a peaceful stretch of coast that feels wonderfully removed from the crowds. One of the details that really caught my eye was the collection of commissioned sculptures of native animals dotted throughout the gardens, which adds a unique and charming connection to the local environment. Overall, Elements of Byron is a great choice for anyone seeking a luxurious retreat from the everyday. Highly recommended for rest, renewal, and quiet indulgence.
We stayed four days at Elements of Byron and had a wonderfully calm, restorative experience. The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and immaculately maintained, creating a peaceful escape just moments from nature. A special highlight was the yoga session with Tara, who was fantastic and made the experience truly memorable. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and would happily return.
Budget-friendly and well-located on Carlyle Street, YHA Byron Bay puts you close to the town centre and the beach without the full Byron price tag. Dorms and private rooms, communal spaces, and the social energy of a well-trafficked hostel.
