Forty-five acres of coastal wetland and rainforest sit between the highway and the sea, and Elements of Byron occupies all of it. The resort's private beach access, lagoon pool, and spa position it firmly at the quieter, more considered end of Byron's accommodation spectrum. Villas are freestanding and oriented toward the trees rather than each other, which is the point. This is not the town-centre scene. Bayshore Drive is a ten-minute drive from the main strip, and that distance is the product. Rates reflect the scale and the setting, so arrive with expectations calibrated accordingly. For families or groups wanting space without the festival-weekend chaos of central Byron, the configuration of interconnecting villas makes practical sense. Book well ahead for school holidays.
The best accommodation we have stayed at in Byron Bay (this is our 6th visit the last 6 years). We like this part of town as it is quiet and the beach is nice. We stayed in June and it was extremely quiet. Each room seems to have its own car park and our room (16) was an easy walk to the beach and the main area. The separated toilet and shower is a nice touch and there is lots of nice tech features in the room. The nespresso machine and the loose leaf Byron bay teas were delicious. You absolutely have to walk around this stunning resort. The beach area is divine during the day and at sunset (I'm sure sunrise is amazing but we don't wake up that early even on a weekday!) Can't wait to come back.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently stayed at Elements of Byron as part of the Jackie Gillies retreat, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The resort is absolutely stunning—beautifully designed, luxurious, and exceptionally comfortable. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, creating the perfect environment to relax, recharge, and reconnect. The food throughout the retreat was outstanding. Every meal felt indulgent and decadent, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and plenty of variety. The facilities are world-class. Spending time by the adults-only pool was a highlight, and relaxing by the warm poolside fire in the evenings was simply magical. The entire property has a calm, peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. What truly made the experience special was the incredible staff. Every team member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. The complimentary buggy service around the resort was such a thoughtful touch and made getting around effortless. A special mention must go to Blue, Cooper, and Mitch, who were absolute standouts and consistently went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Another highlight was being greeted each morning at breakfast by Niamh. Her friendly smile and genuine warmth made the buffet breakfast experience even more enjoyable and was a lovely way to start each day. Combined with the transformative retreat experience, Elements of Byron provided the perfect setting for a truly memorable stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury escape in Byron Bay. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a beautiful and unforgettable experience.

Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Byron Bay
A boutique stay on Bangalow Road, sitting between the town centre and the hinterland edge. Pitched at the quieter, more considered end of Byron's accommodation market. Mid-to-upper price point, residential feel, and close enough to walk but far enough to sleep.

Friday arrival to Sunday checkout, with the specific bookings, timings, and places that make a romantic Byron Bay weekend feel considered rather than improvised. From a Wategos Beach dinner to a dawn balloon flight over the hinterland, this is the two-night plan worth following.
September to November is Byron Bay at its most functional: whale pods still moving through the headland, hinterland trails in their best condition after winter rain, and accommodation priced below the Christmas cliff. Here is what to do, where to stay, and why spring is the window most visitors overlook.
Autumn is the right season for a Byron girls' trip, and the itinerary is simpler than the group chat suggests. Book the Wategos dinner table first, sort the villa second, and let the rest follow. Here is the weekend, planned properly.
Byron Bay's accommodation market doesn't apologise for its prices. Two properties sit at the absolute top — one for position, one for scale — and the gap between them tells you everything about how to choose. Here is what each luxury stay actually delivers, and which one is worth your money.
Byron Bay rewards the patient visitor, but the region around it rewards the curious one. From the heritage strip at Bangalow to the rainforest gorge at Minyon Falls, these six day trips cover the hinterland, the river towns, and the valley country that most visitors never get to. Here is where to go and who each trip actually suits.
My friend and I stayed at Elements of Byron in February 2026 for what was an incredibly important and emotional weekend. My friend had recently been diagnosed with (MND), and we travelled to Byron Bay to spend some meaningful time together and create lasting memories during a particularly difficult chapter of her life. Because of her diagnosis, it was essential that we had accessible accommodation, and the team at Elements went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, supported and cared for from the moment we booked. The level of compassion and kindness we experienced was unlike anything I have encountered before. A special mention must go to the Manager on Duty Ben, who called me several days before our arrival simply to discuss the weekend and offer his support. It was such a thoughtful gesture and immediately reassured us that we were in good hands. Throughout our stay, the staff regularly checked in to see if we needed anything and made us feel genuinely cared for rather than simply accommodated. We were welcomed with a welcome bottle of bubbles, chocolates, and a late checkout, but what meant the most was the genuine empathy and understanding shown by the team. They recognised that this wasn't just a holiday for us and made every effort to ensure our stay was as special and stress-free as possible. We left Byron Bay feeling uplifted, grateful and genuinely cared for. My friend felt incredibly supported throughout the weekend, and the kindness shown by the team played a huge part in that. The experience was so memorable that I have since booked three villas at Elements for July so I can celebrate my bachelorette weekend there with my closest friends. There was never any question about where I wanted to stay. Thank you to Ben and the entire team for creating such a warm and welcoming environment. The care you showed us will never be forgotten. We both look forward to seeing you again in July -Rebecca (and Colleen)
Beautiful resort! It was more family friendly than I expected. We loved the 24/7 golf carts, pool and heated spa, room service (quick and excellent quality pizzas, burgers and kids meals). The staff are really friendly. Well maintained grounds and lovely villas. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to fix the QR codes by the pool so you don’t have to download the app to order food or drinks. I downloaded the app but it didn’t work for me.
This place is incredible!!! The stay, the accommodation…love the service and the staff are incredible! The facilities are 10/10 and attention to detail with the filtered water in the rooms, decent showers and 24 hour buggy service is fantastic. The pools were amazing so many places to lounge and relax and the adult pool was such a great option. The only negative I can say is that there is no breakfast options beside the buffet which most places you can either get room Service or at least order something smaller so that should really be changed as that was a minor inconvenience as we had to wait in the foyer to try get something smaller from The cafe by the pool which doesn’t open until 10am.

On Childe Street, a short walk from both town and the beach, Wake Up! Byron Bay suits travellers who want proximity to everything without paying resort prices. Social by design, communal by nature. Not for light sleepers.
