Glen Villa Resort
Byron Bay · Accommodation
(1,036 reviews)
Butler Street sits far enough from the Jonson Street circus to feel like a different town, and Glen Villa Resort makes the most of that breathing room. The resort offers self-contained accommodation across a spread of tropical gardens, putting you within walking distance of the town centre without the noise that comes with it. The pool and garden setting give it a holiday-house feel rather than a hotel one, which suits families and longer stays better than a one-night dash. No reviews to draw from yet, so take the positioning at face value: a garden resort in a quieter pocket of Byron, priced at the upper end of the market. Book direct and ask about room placement. Garden-facing tends to be quieter than street-facing, and in Byron, that distinction matters.

What People Say
We stayed in our motorhome and found the resort to be so much better than many of the reviews had led us to expect. We enjoyed a warm, friendly welcome from the receptionist. The site has a fantastic location, only a few minutes walk from the main shopping area and the beach. Our pitch was more than adequate for a 6.2metre vehicle with awning and had water and power and there is plenty of nice vegetation around. The toilet block was a little dated but extremely clean and never crowded, while the showers were hot and powerful enough. We were a little worried about staying here having read some poor reviews but we w old not hesitate to recommend Glen Villa and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Lovely, clean, and friendly caravan park with well-maintained facilities. We really enjoyed our stay and found the park welcoming and well run. A few small opportunities for improvement: it would be great to see some basic food and beverage options and retail essentials available on site, such as caravan chemicals, pantry staples, basic kitchen utensils, and disposable plates, cups, and cutlery. LPG gas bottle refill services would also be a very welcome addition for travellers. As with most caravan parks, early mornings are to be expected, there were young children awake, load and active from around 5:30am, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. One minor suggestion would be to upgrade the toilet paper quality, as it was very thin. Overall, a great park that we would happily recommend and stay at again.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a quaint, green park with exceptional staff. The unpowered sites, although close to the road, are surprisingly quiet at night. The facilities are immaculate, with more than enough toilets and showers. I appreciated that each spot accommodates a maximum of two people, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The park seems to attract mostly travelers, which gives it nice quiet vibe. It's unfortunate that every place seems to have that one couple or group who disregard the rules. They park incorrectly, bring multiple children, blast loud music, and fail to supervise their kids. Sadly, it's often young Australians who exhibit this behavior. When confronted by staff, they resort to making excuses and playing dumb, later laughing about how they broke every rule. Thunbs up for staff who have to deal with those people. Aussies, be honest: do you feel proud when tourists respect your country's rules and way of life, but some of you don't? 🤔 It's maybe time for some self-reflection, can’t be so entitled.
Look, to be fair.. the staff were lovely. But you do not get what you pay for. The $232 cabin we got was subpar. Dated, rusted out, smelly. The air con barely worked and the lock was faulty. If you’re camping and into shared facilities, that’s fine. But when you’re paying more money, you’d expect something a little more decent. Do your best to go anywhere else. Sorry staff and owners, but you need to update and fix things, or reduce your prices.
This is an awkward review. I have stayed here before. It was lovely. Central to Byron Bay. The beach huts were adorable and well presented. This review is more a warning for caravan/campers travelling with more than two people. I rang up for fees of a powered site. We have a smaller pop top caravan and three adults. One site is $70. It is not school holidays, but is February so I guess peak-ish time? Anyway the requirement was that because we had three adults, we were required to book two sites. They have a "two person per site rule". This absolutely makes no sense. We dont take up more van area just because we are three people. We have one car and one 16ft caravan. Make it make sense. When I pointed out this logic "thats how it is done" was the response. The guy on the phone was not very polite and quite abrupt. I can understand if we had multiple tents/swags... but even then their two person rule is a stretch. So I guess this park really is built for people travelling in pairs, because they are pricing everyone else out of the market.

Elements of Byron
Byron Bay
Forty-five acres of coastal wetland, freestanding villas pointed at the trees, and private beach access. Elements sits deliberately apart from Byron's centre. The distance from the main strip isn't a drawback; it's the whole idea.

Raes on Wategos
Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Beach Hotel Resort, Byron Bay
Byron Bay
A two-minute walk from the main beach, the Beach Hotel Resort sits at the calmer end of Jonson Street. Location is the main drawcard here. The lighthouse walk, Wategos, and the town centre are all within easy reach.

Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park
Suffolk Park
Tallow Beach is practically at the door, and Suffolk Park is a long way from the Byron tourist strip in the best sense. A practical, beach-access base for families and longer stays, with powered sites and self-contained cabins at a price point the main town can't match.
