Loft Byron Bay
Byron Bay · Nightlife & Bars
(1,047 reviews)
$
One of the cheaper nights out on Jonson Street, which in Byron Bay is worth knowing about. Loft sits above the main strip, giving it a remove from the footpath crowds without losing the central location. As a bar, it pitches itself at the younger end of the Byron nightlife spectrum, the kind of place that fills up late and stays loud. The price point is low by local standards, which keeps the energy less curated and more unpretentious than some of the cocktail bars nearby. With no reviews to draw on, it's hard to call specifics, but the combination of affordable drinks, a Jonson Street address, and a bar format suggests a straightforward night out rather than a destination experience. Worth knowing as an option when the town gets busy and you'd rather not pay premium prices for a rum and Coke.

What People Say
Absolutely beautiful setting in the heart of Byron Bay. We had the $99 bottomless lunch menu. Everything was superb. The lobster spaghetti was excellent, probably just a tad too salty for our liking but still delicious. Service was attentive, waitstaff kept checking to see if we wanted more drinks. The venue is beautiful and you get the nice ocean breeze too. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. Highly recommended.
Lovely lunch at the Loft almost all the dishes were delicious. The Lobster Spaghetti was exquisite and the Crispy Twice Cooked Pork Ribs fabulous. All the sides were lovely and paired well with the mains. The only dish that dissapointed was the Spinach & Nettle Pasta subtle flavours- under seasoned and couldn't taste the crunchy chilli flakes. Staff were friendly but keen to drop and go and not ensure anything else was needed - drinks .
We went to Loft three times during our stay in Byron Bay. Great Restaurant, lovely view & the food was so good! I‘m coeliac & the staff is very knowledgeable! Special shoutout to Emy, she was there every time we went, always happy & helpful. Hospitality really needs people like her. Thank you!
Wow! We ate as a group of 6 and all did the set menu for $89. Portions were super generous and such good value for money! Everything was absolutely delicious!! Could not reccomend more. (All cocktails were super tasty and service was also great!)
We visited on Christmas Day and were a little nervous, knowing it was only our second day in Byron and how busy it would be….. however From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and so well organised that, despite how busy it was, everything ran smoothly and never felt overwhelming. I’ve recently sat down at a disorganised venue that had scattered staff so this was greatly appreciated 🫶🥂 The food was lovely and perfectly timed through our sit down lunch and our waitress recommended the most insane cocktails, can’t believe I’m salivating whilst writing about it…. We were also seated in a fantastic spot, as you can see from the photos, and the ambience was just as impressive. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and the perfect way to spend Christmas. Thank you!

Beach Hotel, Byron Bay
Byron Bay
Uninterrupted views across Main Beach, cold beers on tap, and a beer garden that fills up fast on Friday afternoons. The Beach Hotel is Byron's reliable big-pub option: broad menu, mid-range prices, and a crowd that runs from post-surf families to long-session locals.

Ember Byron Bay
Byron Bay
A bar on Jonson Street's main drag, Ember is positioned where Byron's nightlife actually happens. Central enough to anchor an evening or extend one. Best assessed on a quieter night when the strip isn't at full volume.

The Mez Club | Cocktail Bar | Restaurant | Byron Bay
Byron Bay
Mezcal cocktails and mezze plates on Jonson Street, priced for a proper night rather than a casual one. The concept sits somewhere between cocktail bar and Middle Eastern restaurant. Worth a visit when you want somewhere with a bit more intent than the average Byron strip.
