$$
In a town where a bag of granola can set you back twelve dollars, ALDI on Byron Street is a quiet act of sanity. This is where locals actually do their weekly shop, stocking up on staples, seasonal produce, and the rotating Special Buys aisle that rewards the spontaneous. No frills, no theatre, no sustainability surcharge. The prices are what they are, which is to say: considerably less than the IGA down the road. The layout is stripped back, the checkout is fast, and the carpark gets busy on weekends when the rest of Byron is at brunch. If you're self-catering, staying in an Airbnb, or simply refusing to pay Byron prices for olive oil, this is your first stop.

What People Say
Remove the ‘smart gate’ that requires a ticket to exit, you cant legally detained people without suspected shop lifting…. that is the law. The law states you cant restrict freedom of movement, this gate is locked until you find a ticket to scan. Disappointed by the decision to install this, multiple customers were getting stuck without their tickets and it triggered my anxiety, I don’t like feeling trapped, otherwise it was a good shop in Byron.
I swear, I practically live here now. Came every single day for my food because it’s cheap, the staff are legends and honestly, I might have broken their milk sales record. 4L in 4 days. FOUR LITRES. Every day was a full blown BBQ feast with their weiners sizzling. If Aldi made trophies for loyal milk and weiner enthusiasts, I’d have a shelf full. Cheap, tasty and life changing. 10/10
Ok so thier range is not as broad as Woolworths 50 metres away, but more than enough to satisfy normal food shopping. Above all you'll save money by shopping at Aldi.
staff were very helpful walking me to the items and helping me all the way through my 1st time visit at north Byron bay thank you to all of them, loved the really fresh giant king Australian prawns
I love ALDI but to much veggie and fruits in plastic. Pls go sustainable ♡
