Jonson Street's most democratic institution. When the organic grocer runs out of tahini and the farmers market is three days away, this is where Byron locals actually shop. The full-size supermarket format means proper trolley runs, not basket grabs — bulk staples, a decent deli counter, and the kind of pantry coverage that the smaller IGA can't match. Prices sit at everyday supermarket level, which in Byron counts as genuine relief. The car park is a blood sport on weekends, so weekday mornings are when the regulars come. No frills, no editorial angle, no cold-brew on tap. Just a functioning supermarket in a town that sometimes forgets people need to eat on a Tuesday.
I found the shop had plenty of what I was looking for. I was however surprised at how untidy the shop looked. It was clean but there was product on floor and some shelves somewhat in disarray. I realise this is due mostly to customers, however I was in the shop just after 7am and felt that it could have looked better.
Shelves always look like they are in the process of being stocked so expect a few gaps here any there. Staff are friendly but I would say don’t do a self service checkout: it’s a small community and the staff are often friends with other self service customers and get chatting to them which means if you need assistance or your checkout needs a staff member to swipe you through then you are stuck waiting ages as they finish up their conversation. I know from firsthand experience.
Being a new store in 2019, it is as you would expect for a booking tourist town. Large and light, a great range of produce to rival the city stores. Longer trading hours than many other stores. Check out their fresh sushi section.

Where Byron locals actually do their weekly shop. ALDI on Byron Street keeps prices grounded in a town where groceries can feel like a luxury tax. Self-caterers, long-stay visitors, and anyone who'd rather spend their money at dinner than on pantry staples.

The big green shed on Bayshore Drive handles everything from storm-fence repairs to full garden overhauls. Competitive pricing, easy parking away from the town-centre chaos, and a garden centre stocked with plants that actually survive the Byron climate.

Really great, this place always has everything you need. And staff are always so friendly😽
Went to shop here.great little shop for a supermarket. It was clean.tidy and organised. A big bonus free three hour car parking underneath the shop . If you know Byron bay you will understand as you can’t park anywhere. It was a pleasure to shop here

Tucked into the Habitat lifestyle precinct on Porter Street, this cafe draws a crowd that's more local than tourist. A quieter alternative to the main strip, with the kind of unhurried pace that makes a second coffee feel reasonable.
