Byron Bay · Wellness & Spa
(275 reviews)
Tucked into the Banksia Drive precinct, away from the main strip's foot traffic, Comma is a day spa that takes its cues from the pause the name implies. The offering centres on bodywork and skin treatments in a setting designed to feel removed from Byron's busier rhythms. Without a deep pool of reviews to draw from, it's difficult to call specifics on standout treatments or signature practitioners, but the location and category positioning suggest a clientele looking for something quieter than the town's more prominent wellness operations. Worth a direct inquiry about what's currently on the treatment menu before booking, as smaller day spas in Byron tend to evolve their offerings seasonally. Book ahead regardless. Availability at independently run Byron spas rarely stretches far.
Absolutely beautiful bathhouse. The space is stunning — calm, elegant and thoughtfully designed. The staff are genuinely lovely and welcoming, which makes a big difference. One suggestion: it might be worth reinforcing that it’s a QUIET space (sorry, I did raise my voice there). Most people are there to relax, float around and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Occasionally though, people seem to think they’ve wandered into a café and start a full-volume life update — including, on our visit, a detailed account of their trip to Japan and getting their Mazda repaired. Delightful for them, perhaps, but not exactly the spa soundtrack the rest of us came for.
Hands down the most incredible experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived at comma, everything was just perfect. My massage was absolutely amazing. I genuinely did not want it to end. Sarah is incredible at what she does, she struck the perfect balance between ultimate relaxation and tension release, leaving me feeling completely renewed. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you’re in Byron Bay, do yourself a favour and book in. You won’t regret it!

Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Byron Bay
On Byron Street, close to the town centre and a short walk from the beach. A straightforward studio option in a town full of them. Call ahead to check the current class schedule before turning up.

Mullumbimby
Serious vinyāsa practice in Mullumbimby, built around a breath-led, alignment-focused lineage rather than the drop-in flow scene. The kind of studio locals drive past Byron for. Worth contacting directly to understand the class schedule and level expectations.
September to November is Byron Bay at its most functional: whale pods still moving through the headland, hinterland trails in their best condition after winter rain, and accommodation priced below the Christmas cliff. Here is what to do, where to stay, and why spring is the window most visitors overlook.
Byron Bay's sound healing and meditation scene predates the wellness trend cycle by decades. From residential retreats in hinterland rainforest to day spas built for stillness, here is what to book, what to expect as a first-timer, and why autumn is the best time to do any of it.
Autumn is the right season for a Byron girls' trip, and the itinerary is simpler than the group chat suggests. Book the Wategos dinner table first, sort the villa second, and let the rest follow. Here is the weekend, planned properly.
Byron Bay in winter is the version locals prefer. Whale migrations off the headland, hinterland day trips in cool clear air, wellness retreats you can actually get into, and accommodation prices that reflect the season. June through August is not the off-season. It is the right season.
Byron Bay in autumn is the right time for a genuine wellness week: fewer crowds, better light, and a hinterland cool enough to make morning yoga worth getting up for. This seven-day itinerary structures the week around how the body actually resets, from ocean kayaking and hinterland spa days to a dawn balloon flight over the Tweed Valley. Real days, real recommendations, real order.
From the moment I walked in, the experience felt calm, refined, and genuinely luxurious. Linna (the therapist) was highly skilled, intuitive, and professional, taking the time to keep checking in to see if the pressure exactly what | needed. Will visit again for sure.
I had the most beautiful pregnancy massage with Natalie. She created such a calm, safe and nurturing environment from the moment I arrived. Natalie is incredibly intuitive and attentive, really taking the time to understand what my body needed and adjusting throughout the session. I left feeling completely relaxed, supported and so much lighter in my body. It’s not always easy to find someone you feel truly comfortable with during pregnancy, but Natalie made the whole experience feel effortless. Such a special experience, I’ll definitely be back.
