Franco's name comes up again and again, and that tells you something about how this place runs. A stone's throw from the beach on David Low Way, the Coolum Beach Hotel punches well above the average pub bistro. The seafood tower for two draws consistent praise for freshness and value, the kitchen turns tables fast without cutting corners, and the seniors' menu makes it genuinely multigenerational. The air-conditioned bar is a reliable refuge on a hot Sunshine Coast afternoon. New management has sharpened the service without losing the easy neighbourhood feel. If you're booking a group, ask for Vicki. She'll have it sorted before you've finished the call.
Recently visited Coolum on holiday and had a great time at Coolum Beach Hotel. The service was excellent and the atmosphere on Sunday was brilliant, especially with the live music creating such a great vibe. A special mention to the bar staff — Amy in particular. She was so friendly, welcoming, and had an amazing smile that really made the experience even better. A lovely spot to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the Coolum atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
A gorgeous family meal! We had drinks in the lovely air con bar first then we were seated by Franco....what a delight! He informed us of all the specials and made sure we were looked after! Caity served us and was so lovely. We had the seafood Tower for 2 and it was really great value for money and super fresh. We'll definitely be back!
Super disappointing. Went to enjoy dinner. Ordered 2 x kaarage chicken for the table. Both came out raw/pink and not cooked. Had a very accommodating waitress who returned the chicken to the kitchen. Received 2 x kaarage replacement dishes still raw/pink. Couldn’t eat it. By this time others at our table had eaten their entree and mains so left with no dinner. Didn’t bother requesting a refund after already returning the dish once. Will not be going back. Also know that there were 3 other customers the same night that returned the same dish for the same reason.

Sunshine Beach
On-site roasted coffee, a tiered outdoor deck, and a carrot cake that stops people in their tracks. A short walk from Sunshine Beach, with dogs welcome on the lower level and enough shaded seating to justify a second flat white.

Noosaville QLD
A Noosaville local's pub doing the basics right: cold beers, a sports bar that pumps on game day, and a bistro where the carnivore pizza and the French martini both over-deliver. Staff are the standout. Book online for the bistro on weekends.

By March, the summer crowds have gone home, the water is still 26 degrees, and Noosa's best restaurants actually have tables. Add the Food & Wine Festival in May and weather that finally lets you enjoy a walk without melting, and the case for autumn is hard to argue with. Here is everything you need to plan it right.
December arrives and Noosa doubles in population overnight. The car parks fill by 8am, jellyfish follow the north-easterly winds, and every good restaurant needs a booking three weeks out. This is the honest guide to summer in Noosa: where to swim before the crowds arrive, where to eat when the heat peaks, and what to actually expect.
Noosa is compact, walkable, and genuinely easy to navigate alone. Two solid hostels, a national park that costs nothing to walk, bar seating at the best cafes, and enough going on that a solo trip here feels like a choice rather than a compromise. Here is how to do it properly.
Not every Noosa restaurant with 'ocean view' in its marketing actually faces the ocean. Some look at the river. Some face a carpark with ambition. This guide is honest about which venues deliver the real thing, what to order when you get there, and which ones require a booking versus which ones you can walk into on a Tuesday in autumn.
Noosa has a reputation for being expensive, and parts of it are. But the national park is free, the best beaches cost nothing but the walk down, and there are hostels, cafes, and caravan parks that let you do this place properly without the Hastings Street bill. Here is how to spend less and miss nothing.
Great first visit on Tuesday evening. We had a great time in the pokies area (the room was quite warm as the air con wasn't working) the bar attendant (Amy I think?) was really attentive and helpful throughout and apologised for the heat and made sure we had plenty of refreshments which was really appreciated - we will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
Close to caravan park, super convenient, only 4 min walk. Staff are friendly. Food portions and quality are good. Pokies available to play here. Live music when we arrived (4pm Friday). Quiet and noisy areas, so you can choose your vibe. Plenty of TV screens for sport.

Watch the chocolate being made through the factory window, then order the hot chocolate with oat milk. Handmade chocolates, Padre coffee, and a small garden out back. Gets crowded fast, so arrive early or settle in for the wait.
