The pork tomahawk at Sum Yung Guys is the kind of dish people bring up unprompted weeks later. Glazed, sliced tableside, and substantial enough that seven adults couldn't finish it. This Noosaville restaurant runs on share plates across small, medium, and large formats, with the kitchen leaning hard into bold Asian-fusion flavours: the betel leaf rice cake with fresh apple, the smoked eggplant, the beef rendang, the fried rice with char siu pork and prawn. The room is dark, polished concrete, and loud at peak hours. Bookings are essential and groups of eight or more are locked into the Feed Me menu. Staff consistently earn their mentions in reviews, particularly around navigating chilli heat and pacing the table. Walk-ins at dinner are a gamble. The $55 express lunch is the quieter way in.
Went for a drive from Brisbane to check this place out. The venue itself is amazing and visually calming. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with utmost friendly staff. Our server Eve, was efficiently amazing and made sure we were very well looked after. Everything we had was a little too sweet though and had a lot of coriander which I can't stand. Don't think a second visit will be on the cards.
We have been loyal customers of Some Young Guys since their Sunshine Beach days and have always enjoyed the food, especially the chow kway teow. Unfortunately, our recent visit was extremely disappointing and left us feeling unwelcome and unheard. My husband and I both ordered the chow kway teow. As soon as the dishes arrived, I could smell a burnt aroma. This wasn’t the usual smoky wok hei flavour that good char kway teow is known for. It was burnt. My husband chose to eat his because he was hungry and didn’t want to make a fuss, but I politely sent mine back and explained that the dish was burnt. The waitress returned and told me the chef said there was nothing wrong with it and that if he made it again, it would be exactly the same. I explained that I wasn’t asking for the dish to be made differently. We have ordered this exact dish many times over the years and know what it normally tastes like. I was simply asking for it not to be burnt. A replacement dish was brought out, but unfortunately it was even more burnt than the first. At that point, it genuinely felt as though the kitchen was trying to prove a point rather than address the issue. What disappointed us most was not the food itself, as mistakes happen in every restaurant. It was the way the situation was handled. A staff member who appeared to be the manager approached without greeting or apology and repeatedly insisted that the chef was correct. We were even told that another customer had received the same dish earlier and had not complained, as though that somehow proved ours wasn’t burnt. When paying, we explained that while my husband had eaten his meal because he was hungry, he also agreed that it was burnt. We were told they had made three dishes and were only charging for one. When we said we would likely leave a negative review because of how the situation had been handled, the response was simply a shrug and “OK.” Restaurants are entitled to stand behind their chefs. Customers are equally entitled to politely raise concerns when something isn’t right. Good hospitality is about listening and finding a solution, not proving the customer wrong. This is the first negative review we have left after years of supporting this restaurant, which makes the experience all the more disappointing.

Noosa Heads QLD
Sunset over the Noosa River, oysters with pickled ginger vinaigrette, and a crab spaghetti that reviewers keep coming back for. Ricky's is the kind of place you book for a birthday and end up recommending to your parents the next morning. Worth every dollar, especially at 4.30pm.

Noosa Heads QLD
The Classic Betty Burger holds its own even in peak January crowds on Hastings Street. Fresh buns, juicy patties, quick service, and ice-cream combinations to finish. Affordable by Noosa standards, reliable by any measure.

Saturday morning on Hastings Street is a contact sport. The queues form before 9am and the good tables go fast. But Noosa's best cafes are not all on the main strip. From Sunshine Beach's serious coffee roasters to Noosaville's riverside spots, this is where locals actually eat brunch and how to get a table when it counts.
Friday evening to Sunday noon: the 48-hour Noosa itinerary that skips the tourist traps and gets the reservations right. Coastal walks at dawn, the best share plates on Weyba Road, a sunset dinner on Laguna Bay, and a farmers market before the drive home. This is how locals spend a weekend here.
Noosa feeds 55,000 people and somehow maintains a restaurant scene that embarrasses cities ten times its size. From the hardest booking on Hastings Street to a lamb rump above the Pacific at Sunshine Beach SLSC, these are the twelve restaurants worth planning your trip around in 2026.
Had a lovely meal here. Definitely the best atmosphere in the area and delicious, inventive dishes. Loved the prawn toast, rice cakes, smoked aubergine and roti. The crying tiger short rib was good but a little low in chilli/high in soy sauce for us. Interesting wine list and fab cocktails.
Absolutely need to book if you are to eat here, this place gets packed! Thank you to our server Amanda last night who was very attentive and explained the whole menu for us. We ordered prawn toast and spring rolls to start - spring roll didn’t have much to say for it, prawn toast was juicy, very salty though! Then Pork and prawn fried rice, this to me stood out better than the entrees! Lovely flavour and lots of prawn meat 🍤 For main we had the peanut chicken 🥜 which had so much flavour and the serving was HUGE. Also a roti on the side was great to mop up the sauce. Lots of non alcoholic options which is great as a pregnant diner, the watermelon spritz was really good!
Loved it!!! Been meaning to come here for a few Noosa trips now and finally got an opportunity on our last trip. So glad we were able to come as the food was sensational. Everything we had was delicious from the entree’s (Kingfish / Prawn Toast / Crispy Rice Cake) to the mains (Fried Duck Mince / Swordfish). The only bit of advice I’d give is listen to the server when they say it’s a hot dish…that Fried Duck Mince was delicious but bloody hot, a lot hotter than what I’m used to. I cracked on with it putting on a brave face but geez it had some heat to it 🥵🤣 We had a few different wines by the glass which paired well with our entrees and mains. The vibe was cool and funky, something I’m not 🤣 My only gripe is the couple tables being so close to each other. I get it, you want to maximise space, but surely the couples table don’t need to be in a row and can be scattered throughout the venue to create a bit more of an intimate dinning experience for them. Rant over, food was amazing, Cheers
Coolum Beach
A Coolum Beach café where the big breakfast earns its reputation and the staff actually mean it when they greet you. Locally sourced menu, strong coffee, and gluten-free options handled properly. The fish tacos are worth ordering.
