Two full-time gardeners tend the grounds here, and it shows. The Doonan is a hinterland pub that earns its crowds through sheer effort: sprawling gardens, mist fans cooling the outdoor areas in summer, a kids' playground with a bouncy pillow and cubby house, and a menu that punches well above the standard pub offer. Pizzas and mains come out of a kitchen that clearly knows what it's doing with quality ingredients. The wine list is small but considered. Prices sit at the upper end of casual dining, though a pizza and a glass of wine won't break the bank. Weekends get busy enough that parking can be a scramble. Book a late-morning slot if you want the space to breathe and the full run of the car park.
We went to The Doonan for lunch yesterday for the first time. We thought that the location and the venue were fantastic - such a beautiful garden to enjoy over lunch! The menu is casual food and the seven of us I think really enjoyed our various choices - burger, fish & chips, tuna, lamb, cabbage veggie dish and my Doonan salad was delicious and very filling. The staff were friendly and helpful at the counters and delivering the food. We will definitely go again for another special event and highly recommend it. This is truly a special place on the Sunshine Coast.
A gem of a find, beautiful setting, not pretentious, genuine and warm service but the food is the real star. I had a fillet steak and it was one of the best I’ve had in some time. I only eat blue which demands delicate handling and attentive grilling and these guys exceeded all expectations, tender, black and blue, delicious pepper sauce and excellent meal. My other had had the doonan pizza, it was delicious and the smoked flavour from the oven really added to it. I can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant it is my go to from now on. Well done to the team

Queues form before sunrise on Hastings Street for a reason. The Bánh Mì Pork Belly Bagel has made converts of passing tourists, the coffee is textbook consistent, and the Dutch owner has a habit of pulling up a chair. Mornings for brunch, afternoons for gin and share plates.

A shopping centre address that shouldn't put you off. High ceilings, serious coffee, and a kitchen that punches well above the surroundings. Locals treat it as a daily ritual. Visitors come back four times in a week. The food does the talking.

Well, pretty fancy pub. Gardens around seating area are beautiful. The whole venue was immaculate. Service was exceptional, but maybe because we had a 2 hour seating window, who knows. Big lawn area for kids to play on and maybe a area to pat animals, unsure about that. Foood was good,.but unsure how you order, say dairy free, if you order via QR code.
Asthetically beautiful place, absolutely gorgeous to look at. Peaceful scenery with lush gardens, every where you look there is something visually pleasing! The service was good and the food was really quick and fresh despite it being quite busy.
The Doonan is a family favourite place to visit. They are always expanding and adding to The Doonan experience. Wr can't wait to visit for one of their new BBQ menu's. The greenery and lighting sets the scene before the food arrives to the table. Families are catered for with the jumping castle and playground. The fairly light archways draw out the selfie's and group photo opportunities every time. Such a magicql place to visit. Heaters and blankets are offered during the winter months. The Doonan is popular, therefore early reservations are a must. We booked one week before our visit and there was not many time slots available
The Noosa Civic Woolworths handles the everyday grocery run for much of the area. Ask for Lorenzo in produce if you want someone who actually knows which avocados are worth taking home. Online delivery works well. Stock can be patchy in peak season.
