Main Beach Groyne
Noo Heads QLD · Services
(25 reviews)
The groyne at the eastern end of Main Beach is where Noosa locals go when the main stretch gets too busy. Walk the sand, find the rocks, and you have one of the better sunset vantage points on the Sunshine Coast, away from the café crowds and the hire-kayak traffic. It is a genuine family spot: lifesavers patrol, access is easy, and the water is calmer on the groyne side. Facilities are basic and the toilets struggle when sporting events bring bigger numbers, so plan accordingly. Come for the late afternoon light rather than the amenities.

What People Say
Chill place, away from the people of Main Beach, better spot for the sunset
Beautiful beach 🌸😍💜
Easy stroll down Main beach enjoying the sunset😍
Great family spot. Lifesavers on site. Easy access.
We go here for sport events and we find that the toilets are not up to the amount of people that can be there at the time

Doggy Beach
Noo Heads QLD
Flat water, shifting sandbanks, and dogs doing their best. This off-leash beach off Claude Batten Drive is the low-key Noosa spot locals reach for when they want calm water and a relaxed crowd. Arrive early; the car park fills before you'd expect.

Sunshine Beach Dog Off Leash Area - Beach Access #29 and North
Sunshine Beach
Wide, exposed surf beach running north from Access #29 on Seaview Terrace, where dogs go properly off-leash into real ocean waves. The staircase is steep, the parking is tight, and the crowd of regulars is out early. Go before 6:30am to get the sand to yourselves.

Tewantin National Park
Tentin QLD
A short but steep trail off the old Tewantin-Noosa highway leads to a 360-degree lookout spanning Noosa to Teewah Beach. Go early, bring a picnic, and take the first viewpoint as a warm-up. The summit is worth the sweat.

Noosa river pirate playground
Nooville QLD
A pirate-themed playground right on the Noosa River, with a sandy river beach for safe wading, shaded picnic areas, BBQs, and a flat riverside walkway that stretches on as long as little legs need. Weekends are busy. Come early and stay for the river views.
