The sand spit where the Noosa River meets the ocean is where locals go when Hastings Street gets too much. A narrow strip of beach on the inlet side offers calm, sheltered swimming, while the ocean-facing edge delivers wide views across the main beach without the crowds. Come early morning and you have the place almost entirely to yourself. Return at dusk and the light on the water is worth the walk. Runners use the beach track from Noosa Main Beach as a regular out-and-back route. There are no facilities, no cafes, no commerce. That's the point. The groyne itself is a popular perch for watching the river mouth, and the spit draws a noticeably local crowd year-round.
Absolutely stunning! We cam here during the morning and returned at night. So peaceful!!
First class my favourite spot !👌😎
Great spot, nice beach and sea views, good place to swin on the inlet side..
Gorgeous views of the beach and ocean. A very quiet reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Hastings Street and Noosa's main beach. The spit itself is a much more local, relaxed beach than the main beach. But don't tell anyone!

Noosa Heads QLD
Walk to the far end of Main Beach and you hit the groyne, a rocky breakwater that earns its reputation as one of the quieter sunset spots in Noosa. Lifesavers on site, easy access, and a view that the main beach strip cannot match.

Noosa Heads QLD
A shallow, dog-friendly spit of beach at the edge of Noosa Heads, with a sandbar island at low tide and reliable sunset views facing north. The water is calm and clear. Parking is the catch. Get here early.

Run from Noosa Main bench to here and back via the beach in the early ‘morning.. friendly run for a tourist !
Sunshine Beach
Wide, exposed surf beach running north from Access #29 on Seaview Terrace, where dogs go properly off-leash into real ocean waves. The staircase is steep, the parking is tight, and the crowd of regulars is out early. Go before 6:30am to get the sand to yourselves.
