Beach Hotel Resort, Byron Bay
Byron Bay · Accommodation
(1,071 reviews)
Bay Lane puts you as close to the main beach as Byron gets without sleeping on the sand. The Beach Hotel Resort sits at the quieter end of Jonson Street, where the pub crowd thins out and the ocean is a two-minute walk. Rooms face either the pool or the gardens, and the location does most of the heavy lifting: the lighthouse walk starts nearby, Wategos is a short drive, and the town centre is on foot. Without a strong review base to draw from, it's hard to call the rooms beyond their positioning as a mid-to-upper-tier resort option in a town where accommodation prices rarely match expectations. Book direct, ask for a room away from the pub, and you're in a reasonable spot for exploring the rest of the region.

What People Say
We love staying here. 4 years ago we dropped in looking for somewhere really nice to stay. The lovely Eve walked us through and showed us around the resort and one of the rooms. We fell in love from that moment and have kept going back a few times each year. The location is awesome, right in the heart of Byron… our favourite past time is sipping cocktails by the pool. All the staff are so amazing.. especially Eve who we love reconnecting with each visit. She always goes above and beyond. She’s so very helpful. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.
Gorgeous spot right in the heart of buzzing Byron. Our room opens right onto the pool area. Generous sized rooms. Gorgeous retro vintage decor. When you step into the foyer, you feel like you stepped right into somewhere between 50's and 70's which we loved!!! Hope they keep the retro vibe! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely recommend.
This is an amazing place, staff couldn't do enough for you. The rooms are a little dated but it really doesn't matter. The location is amazing, and the people and ambience is something else. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Oh how I miss this place.
If God had an address, this would be it. … 😇🥰😇🥰😇😇🥰My father was the king of hospitality the first one ever awarded and 3 more times. I was the tourism ambassador for the Gold Coast. I’ve looked after the king of Dubai George Clooney Mel Gibson Dolph London taking them to the most wonderful places while they’re in our country but this was my secret place and I’m now sharing it with you…, and I’ve inherited that passion. When I first arrived at this extraordinary place during my battle with breast cancer, I was uncertain about my future. But despite the relentless recurrence of the disease, I found my refuge here—an oasis of healing that feels almost divine. This isn’t just any destination; it’s a sacred space where beauty and tranquility converge. I truly believe that God has an address, and it resides here. The enchanting landscape, the gentle lighting, and the genuinely kind staff create an atmosphere that is nothing short of transformative. The experience is life-changing, and while it feels almost too precious to share, I want others to discover this magic for themselves. Having traveled extensively and coming from a renowned hospitality family on the Gold Coast, I’ve encountered remarkable food and accommodations. Yet, this place transcends all expectations. It offers not just luxury, but a profound sense of healing and connection. I first visited two years ago while battling cancer, and it has become my sanctuary. The sheer beauty of this location instills a desire to embrace life, making healing feel possible. Byron Bay is not just a destination; it’s a lasting imprint on the soul. My time studying and living in France was once my pinnacle experience, but this place has redefined what I hold dear. It’s my everything—my number one. If you seek an experience that will resonate within you forever, look no further. This is where you need to be.
The big problem was that while they advertise EV charging on site they don’t tell you they have an antiquated Tesla system which they were fully aware did not accept other EV’s. We even double checked with reception before booking. The public charger around the corner was out of order and after wasting half the day we took our car to a first class hotel that friends were staying at and had to pay for parking to then access their EV charger. What happened to customer relations Beach Hotel? It’s 2025 and an updated Tesla charger that accepts all EV’s is $800. The reception spoke to the on duty manager who couldn’t even be bothered to get up from his desk to speak to us. So unprofessional

Elements of Byron
Byron Bay
Forty-five acres of coastal wetland, freestanding villas pointed at the trees, and private beach access. Elements sits deliberately apart from Byron's centre. The distance from the main strip isn't a drawback; it's the whole idea.

Raes on Wategos
Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park
Suffolk Park
Tallow Beach is practically at the door, and Suffolk Park is a long way from the Byron tourist strip in the best sense. A practical, beach-access base for families and longer stays, with powered sites and self-contained cabins at a price point the main town can't match.

Glen Villa Resort
Byron Bay
Set back from the main strip on Butler Street, Glen Villa Resort trades on tropical gardens, a pool, and self-contained rooms that work better for a week than a weekend. Quieter than central Byron, walkable to everything that isn't.
