Somatic yoga takes the introspective end of the practice seriously, and Sol Method is built around exactly that. Based on Bangalow Road, this studio works with the nervous system as much as the body, drawing on somatic movement principles to address how stress, tension, and habitual patterns live in the tissues. It's a quieter proposition than the flow studios closer to town, aimed at people who want something more methodical than a vinyasa class. No reviews to draw from yet, so first-timers are advised to check the class schedule and enquire directly about the right entry point. Worth knowing: Bangalow Road sits just outside the Byron core, which means easier parking and a slightly less tourist-facing crowd.
Somatic Flow with Tara was one of my most cherished experiences during my stay in Byron Bay. The space she holds is filled with such beautiful, grounded energy — shared with deep presence, heart, and soul. Through gentle guidance, I learned how to breathe with intention, awakening and soothing my nervous system. Tara intuitively meets each person where they are, offering exactly what’s needed — no more, no less. She truly felt like an angel crossing my path — a gentle, radiant guide who reminded me how to come home to myself. i'll come back Tara ! gracias ! bienvenida en España
I recently had the pleasure of attending Tara's Somatic Strength class at Sol Method in Byron, and I can't rave about it enough! As I navigate through perimenopause, I was on the lookout for effective techniques to alleviate my lower back pain and strengthen my core. Tara's class was exactly what I needed. The workouts are thoughtfully designed to improve not just the lower back and core but also the arms, all while maintaining a wonderfully slow pace that allowed me to truly connect with my body. I left feeling longer, balanced, and rejuvenated. Tara's voice and energy added a beautiful touch to the experience—her supportive and soothing tone perfectly complemented the deep, juicy strengthening exercises. Finding Sol Method has been a true sanctuary for me, where I can focus on enhancing my body, mind, and soul. I couldn't be happier with my experience and highly recommend Tara's class to anyone seeking a holistic approach to strength and wellness! HUGS

Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Byron Bay
Full-spectrum infrared sessions in a quiet Tasman Way studio, away from the Byron strip. Lower temperatures than a traditional sauna mean longer, more tolerable sessions and a deeper sweat. Suits the post-surf crowd and the wellness regulars equally.

Byron Bay
A massage studio on Jonson Street, positioned for convenience as much as anything else. Central enough to fit around a beach day, with the standard range of relaxation and remedial treatments you'd expect from a Byron day spa.
Despite being a Hatha traditionalist, I LOVED my first practice at Sol Method. The guidance was strong, intelligent and essentially consistent with my training - but far more intentional in terms of breathwork and its physiological purpose. Highly worth the trip down from the Goldie.
Best yoga / somatic class I’ve ever done. Tara is such a beautiful person!
Sol method feels like home. When I saw the classes they offer I thought it was very different from anywhere else and I booked my first Breath and Somatics and since that moment I knew where to come back when my nervous system needs a reset. I am a very busy human so I don’t go as much as I wish, but seeing Tara, Ruby and Alyss always fills my heart. Such as a medicine for the body. Thank you!
