The curved interiors and hidden TVs signal what Mondrian is going for: a design hotel that takes itself seriously. Sitting directly across from Burleigh Beach, it pulls off the location better than almost anything else on the Gold Coast. Rooms are genuinely impressive, with ambient lighting, automatic blinds, and finishes that reviewers consistently call out. The all-day Italian restaurant, lobby bar, and seafood restaurant give you reasons to stay put. The pool, though, is small and shared with all comers, which undercuts the wellness pitch of the magnesium pools. Parking costs $110 a night on top of already premium room rates, which stings. Service ranges from warm and switched-on to indifferent, sometimes in the same stay. Book direct and confirm your view category in writing.

We were disappointed with our stay at what is marketed as a luxury hotel. When we went to the concierge to ask why our room was not the one we had booked, she insisted it was correct, explaining that there are only six rooms with a full ocean view, which are randomly assigned to guests. This was never communicated at the time of booking, and none of my Accor Gold benefits, such as late check-out, were offered. I’ve stayed at many Accor hotels, and this was by far the worst service I’ve experienced. Paying a premium price for a room that does not meet advertised expectations feels misleading and like false marketing. That said, there were some things I liked. The location is great, the ocean view—although partial—was beautiful, and I enjoyed features like the automatic blinds, hidden TV, and the super comfy bed. However, the service could have been handled better, and it would be helpful to have more photos to manage guest expectations. Calling different rooms the “same room” felt misleading, as sizes, layouts, and views differ, yet the price is the same. Overall, it’s a nice space and a comfortable stay, but clearer communication and more transparency would make the experience truly feel luxury. That said, I will not be returning anytime soon, as the price does not reflect the experience. There are better options at similar or better value, such as Crown Sydney.
Had an incredible mid week stay at the Mondrian. Could not fault anything. Enjoyed a delicious dinner with lovely cocktails and enjoyed an early morning swim and soak in the warm magnesium pool all to ourselves. The room was so spacious and the views were breathtaking. It was incredible to wake up to the sunrise over the ocean with floor to ceiling windows. Shout out to all the friendly staff and BIG thank you to Alex and Sam for going the extra mile and making our celebrations so very special. Many thanks

Palm Beach
Where Tallebudgera Creek meets Palm Beach, with waterfront cabins, a creek beach calm enough for kids, and a surf beach in the other direction. Food trucks, an adults-only pool, and staff who remember your name after a few visits. The kind of place families rebook before they've even packed up.

Tweed Heads South
A waterpark, a tidal billabong with kayaks, go-karts, food trucks, and live music on the camp kitchen deck. The Duranbah cabins sleep families in genuine comfort. Positioned between the Gold Coast and Kingscliff, this is the holiday park that makes the school holiday argument easy.

Overall the staff were all excellent. Knoweldgeable positive and friendly...the opposite of smilebots we've encountered elsewhere. The eating and social areas were alive without being so loud that you couldn't converse. Food was all good quality. Room was excellent with an awesome view (we were upgraded). The only downside was a few persistent flies in the downstairs restaurant on the afternoon Valentine's dinch we enjoyed. The staff were professional and did their best to take care of the issue.
Not worth it. Accor platinum pretty much unrecognised - dont expect an upgrade, early check in or late checkout (even when occupancy allows). Starting with the positives: cool design, nice vibe. Interesting room layout. Nice tv in the bedroom. Onto the negatives: - Lito restaurant staff inconsistent. On the first day, they forgot our order, so we waited 40 minutes before I prompted them to check - some empty apologies from them but I would’ve really expected more considering they wasted almost 40 mins of our time. Staff from second day were much better, offering juices with breakfast (that wasn’t offered on the first day). - Breakfast menu was nice, but very limited. Only a handful of items on a menu that does not rotate - so by day 3 you’re pretty sick of it. There are items outside of the breakfast menu but not included in the ‘hotel breakfast’ - ie you have to pay extra. - We sneakily got charged $6 for a side of half an avocado to go with the frittata. This was not made clear on the menu or on ordering. Apparently the sides are free if you got the eggs, NOT the frittata (see the menu - it’s not clear at all) - accor platinum status didnt really get me many perks other than a bottle of wine on arrival (which is pretty standard across most of the average accor hotels). Had a room on a low floor (7th). Tried to redeem my welcome drinks but several staff didnt seem to know what it was about and had to ask their supervisor. At worst - asked for late checkout and was given a minimal 2 hour later checkout - there was no occupancy issue because they said they’d have to charge for later than 2 hours. Ive always been fairly unassuming of my accor platinum status but after using it at 20+ hotels, I’d say this was the least acknowledged. - the pool was nice, but at night it becomes a very loud and rowdy bar that really takes away from the luxury. Additionally, near the magnesium plunge pools, there is a really loud uncomfortable banging that comes from the door that the staff come in and out of. All in all, we have a fairly low bar. But when we decide to splurge and pay a premium, we really expect better. —————————- To make things worse, I was mischarged for breakfast. I had to point it out on the charges and they will now refund me. I wonder how many guests they mistakenly charge
Room was incredible. Hotel staff were incredible. Paying $600 for a room and then having to pay $110 for one night parking was extortion. We were lucky enough to get an early check in and late check out and were stung with an addition $70 parking fee. $110 for parking for 1 night - parking fine would have cost less. The room would have been cheaper to book via booking.com instead of direct with the hotel The AC barely worked and I couldn’t sleep. We also had to chase up room service 3 times to check dietaries and ended up going to bed hungry because they couldn’t work it out. The pool was incredible until a handful of local mums bought their kids in to play and scream around the pool after school pick up. Really discrediting the luxury appeal. Such a shame about the pool and particularly the parking. I can see why the review average suffers. The accomodation itself is flawless.

Seventy minutes from Brisbane and several degrees cooler, Binna Burra Lodge sits above World Heritage rainforest in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The Sky Lodge balcony views stop people mid-sentence. The cafe beef burger is reason enough to ride out on a Thursday.
