Forty dollars gets you mineral pools, a cold plunge, dry sauna, and steam room in the middle of Mermaid Beach. The Gold Coast's original urban bathhouse has been doing the circuit-style thermal soak format since before it became a trend, and the 2,700-plus Google reviews suggest it's doing something right. Midweek mornings are the move: the space opens up, the pools are quieter, and the early bird sessions give you a solid 60 minutes to work through hot-to-cold cycles at your own pace. Add a massage upgrade if you can. Vanessa and Pauline get repeated mentions by name, which says something. Complimentary tea is available throughout. The 50-minute massage cap frustrates some regulars, but the bathhouse circuit itself is the real draw. Book online before you go.
Soak bath house is amazing, today I had a 50 minute massage, therapist was amazing. Vanessa is a Brazilian physiotherapist and I a very talented massage therapist. I re booked straight away for next week. The only thing that stumps me, is that I have had many massage treatments in many different locations worldwide and I simply can’t get my head around why they only offer a 50 minute treatment… I followed my massage with a soak session and that’s always fantastic there at soak. With the mineral pool, the dry and wet theropy and also the hot and cold pools too! I felt amazing afterwards.
Very much an Urban Oasis, SOAK at Mermaid Beach was both relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time! We felt the early bird session was perfect for us, allowing plenty of time in the 60 mins to go between the mineral pools, spa, plunge pool and sauna/steam rooms. Would definitely come back when travelling to the Gold Coast again

Currumbin Valley
A residential health retreat in Currumbin Valley where the program spans cold plunge therapy, sound bowls, and cooking classes, but nobody pressures you to do any of it. The cabins are genuinely comfortable, the food is nourishing, and the staff are the reason people fly in from across Australia.

Currumbin Valley
A phone-free circuit of hot tubs, magnesium pool, ice bath, wood-fire sauna, and infrared saunas tucked into Currumbin Valley bushland. The Cannabella Bliss treatment and a post-soak coffee at the attached cafe make a full afternoon of it. Bring your own towels.

It was soooooooo good. I got a vochure for Christmas and it was the perfect time out I needed. The massage was perfect and Pauline was amazing! The staff were lovely and facilities are divine! I’ll be asking Santa for this gift again!
Loved this place. Went to SOAK in Mermaid Beach QLD, have also been to their South Yarra Melbourne location and both times had a great experience. Go at your own pace. Me and my friend paid for massage upgrade and it was heavenly. Music was calming and familiar. Complimentary tea provided where you can have as much as you want. Urban Oasis.
Wonderful caring staff giving expert safety instruction and explaining what was on offer and what was the best way to use the facilities. A wonderful experience with different temperature pools, 2 spa pools, a sauna and steam rooms. Outdoor showers for a quick wash down to use the ice pool after using the sauna or steam room to get. There is also other facilities like massage rooms, Light type sauna etc that can be checked out and booked. Check out their website for more details. I totally recommend this Bathhouse. Wish we had one in the Hunter/ Newcastle Area.
Neranwood
A hinterland spa retreat high above the Gold Coast, where Gerda's team runs full-day packages around a heated infinity pool with serious valley views. The massage is the centrepiece. The mountain air does the rest.
