The beer garden at the Beach Hotel is one of Byron's most reliable sunset spots, with uninterrupted views across Main Beach that have been drawing locals and travellers alike for decades. It's a big pub in the best sense: cold beers on tap, a broad food menu, and enough space that you're not fighting for a table on a Tuesday. The crowd skews mixed, from families wrapping up a beach day to groups settling in for a long Friday session. Prices sit at mid-range for Byron, which is to say reasonable by local standards. The bistro covers the basics competently. Come for the view and the atmosphere rather than a standout meal, and you'll leave satisfied.

What People Say
Went for dinner on a really busy Saturday night. Walked in and this place is big. Found a table on the beach side of the venue and had a drink, ordered the steak. Soaked up some sea breeze and really enjoyed the venue. Staff were great, food was perfect, atmosphere really good. Will go back next time we are in Byron. Well done. 10/10
We enjoyed this location so much during our visit to Byron Bay that we visited twice and had some drinks. Such a great location opposite the beach and with some outdoor areas to sit and have a drink it really is perfect when you get that nice sea breeze come across and provide some natural air conditioning. We got to experience some live music that added to the great vibe this place gives. Also loved the option to order from the bar or from table via QR code. Staff are very helpful and pleasant which made our time there great
The location by the beach was beautiful. The staff are absolutely amazing. The place was quite busy but there was still no wait for my dinner. The miso barramundi was delicious by the way. There was live music playing when I arrived, which made the evening a great way to unwind. I thought the mirror ball shark was fantastic.
I barely left negative reviews or comments for businesses. But this one I have to say it is very terrible. My partner and I had a very unpleasant experience there in a Christmas Eve evening. Everything is way too salty. We ordered crispy calamari and the pickle veggie in that dish was spoiled. It’s not the smell of vinegar, not the flavour of the sauce. It’s just specific smell of spoiled vegetable. I ordered a rare steak and it was overcooked and it was like a medium well steak. Again, the steak was way too salty and I couldn’t barely tell the quality or taste the flavour of the meat. My partner ordered a double cheese burger and the burger was very greasy and oily and we could even see the oil dripping all over the plate. The oysters we ordered were small and I am sure I could buy a dozen of better quality oysters with that price. I also found the napkin provided had been torn when I received it. It just looks so bad. I understand the kitchen might be busy on Christmas Eve but there is no excuse to provide any foods with that quality. I was very disappointed with that.
Visiting from the sunshine state and decided this was my first stop on our Littke weekend getaway. Great massive venue !! The food was superb , quick . Fresh and hot . Service could do with a little more work but they were busy I can allow a little wiggle room . Quality spot to catch up with friends and family we will be back .
More Nightlife & Bars in Byron Bay

The Mez Club | Cocktail Bar | Restaurant | Byron Bay
Byron Bay
Mezcal cocktails and mezze plates on Jonson Street, priced for a proper night rather than a casual one. The concept sits somewhere between cocktail bar and Middle Eastern restaurant. Worth a visit when you want somewhere with a bit more intent than the average Byron strip.

The Northern
Byron Bay
Jonson Street's most reliable night-out anchor. Live music, a workable bar, and a crowd that mixes locals with clued-in visitors. Reasonable by Byron standards, which is saying something. Check what's on before you arrive.

Loft Byron Bay
Byron Bay
One of the more affordable bars on Jonson Street, Loft sits above the main strip with a late-night crowd and unpretentious energy. If Byron's pricier cocktail scene isn't what you're after, this is a reasonable alternative in a central location.

Hotel Brunswick
Brunswick Heads
The pub Brunswick Heads actually drinks at. Cold beer, no-fuss food, and a front bar that hasn't tried to become something else. In a town that's resisted the Byron creep, the Brunswick Hotel is a big part of why.
