The Pacific Ale was born here. Stone & Wood's Byron Bay brewery is the source — the place where the hazy, tropical-forward beer that became shorthand for a certain kind of Australian summer was first brewed. The taproom at Centennial Circuit sits within the working brewery itself, which means you're drinking fresh from the tank in a way that most venues can only gesture at. Expect a relaxed, industrial-meets-warehouse setting, cold pints poured properly, and a food offering that holds its own without trying to compete with the beer. It draws a broad crowd — locals on a Friday knock-off, curious visitors who've been drinking the cans all week and want to see where they come from. Go on a weekday if you want elbow room. The brewery tour is worth factoring into your visit.
Have long awaited to tick this off my bucket list and was so glad to have finally made it here. Loved that there were many options of seating both inside and outside. The decor is very industrial chic and all beers are well displayed. There are 2 options of paddles for tasting experiences either 3 or 5. I of course tried the 5 paddle experience. My favourite was the Wilderness - Honey Cream Ale - WOW. We also opted to have some lunch here. Just your usual easy options of fish tacos and chicken tenders.
Stone & Wood Brewery in Byron Bay is an awesome place to relax and enjoy great food and even better beer. The atmosphere is chilled and welcoming, with plenty of space to sit back and enjoy the Byron Bay vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was quick even though it was busy. The beers are fresh and full of flavour, and the food menu has something for everyone. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends, bring the family, or just unwind after a day exploring Byron. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area – we’ll definitely be back again.

Byron Bay
A Jonson Street pub that's been holding its ground while Byron reinvented itself around it. Cold beers, mixed crowd, no attitude. The kind of place where locals and visitors end up at the same bar stool without anyone making it weird.

Byron Bay
Oysters and cold drinks on a balcony above Lawson Street. This is Byron's raw bar in the most literal sense: elevated, unfussy, and well-positioned for watching the evening unfold below. Mid-range pricing makes it an easy yes for a pre-dinner drink that turns into two.

Great spot for a drink, but a better spot for a tour! The drinks menu is varied and in my opinion the beers are notably better fresh from the tap, so you’re onto a winner if you’re just out for a drink. The building is pretty grand and there’s loads of room, but it’s located on the industrial estate and thus a little far out from most places. That however, is because the best way to treat a trip here is to do the tour and settle in for a few hours, and get some snacks whilst you’re there!
We have been loyal customers for years, returning not only for the beers but, more importantly, for the absolutely incredible food menu. Today, we were told that the menu had changed due to having partnered with a new kitchen. Instead of the most flavoursome cauliflower poppers and a mouth-watering veggie burger at a reasonable price, we were served four pieces of flatbread with dips and two pieces of tacos (Tacos alone were $22). The veggie tacos consisted of some shredded cabbage, oven-baked potato, a small amount of avocado, and pickled onions - stripped of the flavour explosion we once knew. It also leaves us wondering where the value or justification for margin is coming from. I understand that times are tough, but significantly reducing effort and quality while increasing prices feels like a slap in the face, especially for returning customers. Feeling let down doesn’t even begin to describe it. Please bring back the old menu.
This is a great spot to include in your family day trip itinerary—especially if you're exploring around Byron Bay. It's a place where you come for the vibe as much as the drinks. There’s a wide variety of beers available, and you can sample them on site. If you find one you like, you can even take some home. Overall, it’s a really nice place to relax and take a break along your journey!
Byron Bay
Mezcal cocktails and mezze plates on Jonson Street, priced for a proper night rather than a casual one. The concept sits somewhere between cocktail bar and Middle Eastern restaurant. Worth a visit when you want somewhere with a bit more intent than the average Byron strip.
