Walk out the gate and you're on the sand. That's the whole pitch at Golden Riviera, and for a lot of people, it's enough. The beachfront apartments, spread across one, two, and three-bedroom configurations, come with full kitchens, balconies, and the kind of space that makes a week's stay genuinely comfortable rather than merely tolerable. Tugun's quieter stretch of Gold Coast beach sits right outside, and the airport proximity that might give you pause is, according to most guests, more novelty than nuisance. Donna and her team get consistent praise for going beyond the standard reception-desk interaction. Cleanliness reviews are mostly strong, though one recent stay flagged issues worth noting. Book direct for the best rate, park underground, and don't bother moving the car until checkout.
Nice time spent with family in late January for one week. Nice and clean swimming pool, very spacious apartment, very good service at reception and place maintenance. Very close to the beach. The airport is very close, and there is no issue with planes flying and noise. Very good for a low price, definitely will be back.
We loved everything about the Golden Riviera! Started with a friendly efficient check in and ended with a the lovely checkout. The 2 bedroom apartment was roomy and clean with everything we needed. Access to the beach is amazing just step out of the gate and you're there. It's position is 6 star!! From the adjacent tavern to the Tugun Surf Club and walking distance to many great restaurants it's so easy to eat what you feel like. Hardly heard the planes flying over and it was a novelty to watch them from the beach coming in to land.
"The Golden Riviera Beach Resort is a 10/10 for location if your goal is to wake up and walk straight onto the sand. It’s the ultimate spot for a 'park the car and forget about it' holiday. While it maintains a casual, laid-back resort feel, the direct beach access makes it feel like a luxury retreat for those who value the ocean above all else."

Canungra
Lorikeets at breakfast, ancient rainforest trails out the door, and a spa waiting when you get back. Two hours from Brisbane, O'Reilly's has anchored the Gold Coast hinterland for a century. The setting does the heavy lifting. Come for the birds and the Box Circuit hike.

Palm Beach
Where Tallebudgera Creek meets Palm Beach, with waterfront cabins, a creek beach calm enough for kids, and a surf beach in the other direction. Food trucks, an adults-only pool, and staff who remember your name after a few visits. The kind of place families rebook before they've even packed up.

Great location. Difficult accessibility to get to ground floor room (2 x sets of stairs). Good room layout. Oblige lounge/ kitchen has air con, not bedrooms. Split-system unit filter was filthy and the unit mouldy. I had checked in after hours, so some to recurrent about this and the mouldy vertical blinds in both bedrooms the next morning. Air Con was cleaned on return to my room. The ensuite shower and drain in main bedroom was filthy. The floors in bathroom, ensuite and kitchen eye sticky. The fridge door shelving was broken. Dirty jug, dirty kitchen saucepans etc. Drawers in kitchen and bathrooms need a clean. Lots of dirty marks on walls. Reception were friendly and asked storage of luggage for those who needed that on checkout. The hot water was great, the bed was comfortable with good linen. No room service, you need to carry you rubbish down to basement on checkout. Bright sunlight penetrative bedroom blinds in the morning and at light garden lights shine through closed blinds. Great location with good security, needing to use fob to access hallways, capital and gate to pool and garden area from street. Room 13 - avoid it!
We stayed here during a work trip this week and were quite disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the room. The floors were sticky and left our socks black. The cutlery and cups were unwashed, with visible food residue. The shower and bath contained black hair and dirt, and the curtains in the second bedroom were broken, allowing light in early each morning. Additionally, the outdoor furniture was mouldy and unclean.
Tweed Heads South
A waterpark, a tidal billabong with kayaks, go-karts, food trucks, and live music on the camp kitchen deck. The Duranbah cabins sleep families in genuine comfort. Positioned between the Gold Coast and Kingscliff, this is the holiday park that makes the school holiday argument easy.
