The beds are the first thing reviewers mention, and they mention them repeatedly. Cloud-soft, quiet, and facing the pool in the better rooms, the Nightelier Mermaid Waters runs a tighter ship than its low-key Markeri Street address might suggest. Free breakfast is included in most rates, hot and cold, self-serve coffee machine, the same spread daily but solid enough that families staying twelve nights don't complain. The spa family rooms are generous. Staff names come up in reviews the way they only do when someone's actually made an impression: Arlene at the desk, Bonnie at the bar. The restaurant is relaxed and does the job well. Prices are fair for what you get. The practical bonus most guests only discover on arrival: Dan Murphy's is right next door.

Not the best, the photos of the room when we booked had a bath tub our room did not, it was a wheel chair bathroom water wasn't hot, and the place over all was pretty average, fine if yoy just need a stop somewhere as you're travelling I guess. Our room was on the ground floor near the entry and we could hear every single person who walked past no privacy at all. The bed was ridiculously soft I slept in a ditch. The hot breakfast was decent that's The only somewhat good part, next time Ill go elsewhere my buy breakfast,
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The location was perfect, offering easy access to Pac Fair shopping centre and beach. The room was clean and incredibly comfortable, making our stay so relaxing. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The service was exceptional, and the staffs were friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!
Great room, plenty of space. We stayed on the 2nd floor & when leaving to go out the ground floor had smokers right outside the door. Plenty of parking. Accommodation staff we very friendly, efficient & helpful. Lovely building, the only thing with the room is we found the bed too soft.

Bilinga
A hundred metres from the terminal, with a rooftop bar, ocean views from level six, and a beach ten minutes on foot. The breakfast buffet is well stocked, the staff are genuinely good, and the pool beats the departure lounge every time.

Eungella
Days run from 5am yoga to evening kirtan, with organic vegetarian meals and Brahman cows you can actually pat. Set in a mountain valley near the Gold Coast hinterland, this working spiritual community draws repeat visitors who keep coming back for the food, the people, and the temple.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough for a lovely stay! From the moment we checked in the staff were lovely and so helpful to anything we needed. Room was very spacious, clean with a comfy bed and a large desk & TV too! We got dinner here on the first night and it was very tasty. Steak and the Katsu curry was great. We had breakfast every morning included in our stay. Good selection and the coffee was good. Pool area looked nice but the weather wasn’t great for our stay sadly! Location isn’t bad. 15 minutes walk to mermaid beach and 20 minutes walk to pacific fair shopping centre with good bus routes available outside the hotel too!
Perfect quiet getaway with a minor check-in hiccup 😊 We were looking for a quieter spot for an overnight birthday celebration—somewhere close to everything we needed but away from the chaotic noise of Surfers Paradise and other busy Gold Coast destinations. This place was perfect. Check-in was easy, though a bit off-putting. The lady serving us wasn't friendly, didn’t smile once, and as soon as she handed over the room key and parking gate code, she literally hustled away without even wishing us a nice stay. It left us no opportunity to ask about services, which made me a bit concerned for the night ahead. This is not a good look for the hotel at all 😢 However, the room itself was lovely! We booked a family studio, and it was spacious and spotless. The beds were absolutely divine and comfortable, the bath was perfect for a long soak, and my daughter loved the hot shower. They also provided enough complimentary welcome water for all of us, which was greatly appreciated. We couldn't find the pool or any signage/room info for it, so we can't comment on that, though it looks nice in the online photos. The hotel next door is easily accessible, and the staff there were absolutely lovely and friendly. Their breakfast buffet had plenty of fresh, tasty choices for both kids and adults, with no wait times and ample seating. The property itself was beautifully quiet—we couldn't hear any noise from other guests, and we even found a classic movie (Back to the Future) to watch. On checkout, the gentleman at the desk was fantastic—very friendly, smiling, and genuinely interested in how our stay was. I wish we'd had him at check-in, as it would have set a completely different tone. I couldn't give him this feedback at the time as we were rushing off to an event so we’re only there for a couple of minutes. Overall, aside from the Miss grumpy arrival experience, which lost a star from the review, it was a beautiful stay and we would definitely consider returning!
Bilinga
A ten-minute walk from Gold Coast Airport, this budget YHA in Bilinga is built around one purpose: the early flight. Staff are genuinely helpful, the communal kitchen is spacious, and the private rooms cover the basics. Manage expectations on the facilities and it does the job.
