The day starts at 5am here, and that's not a warning, it's the point. Set in a valley outside Eungella, backed by mountains and lush farmland, Krishna Village runs on a full schedule of yoga classes, breathwork, sound healing, and kirtan that carries guests from dawn to dusk. The vegetarian meals are organic and repeatedly praised, the Brahman cows on the property are genuinely worth meeting, and the community that forms around the temple and yoga hall tends to outlast the stay. Accommodation ranges from simple guest rooms to camping, all clean if modest. The vibe is the thing: multiple reviewers mention returning year after year, bringing friends, bumping into people made here as far away as Barcelona. Book a karma yoga week if you want the full picture.
My experience at Krishna Village was truly incredible and very memorable. I especially loved the sound healing, the breathwork sessions, the yoga classes, the sense of community, the kirtan and the delicious food 🧡 It really fulfilled what I was looking for, a mix of vacation and volunteering. I did one week of karma yoga. Everything was so, so good! And I love the cows 🐄✨ Hare Krishna!!!!
Krishna Village has to be one of my absolute favourite places to escape to. I have taken many of my friends along as well and they all feel the same way. It's the most tranquil relaxing place where you are met with genuine connections, genuine hospitality, incredible food and all in the most beautiful location. The minute you turn up at the place you can feel the vibe immediately. Everyone is so caring and welcoming. I can't wait for my next trip.
The moment I entered Krishna Village, I had a real wow feeling. It is an amazing place surrounded by mountains and lush greenery, creating a very peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The yoga classes were wonderful, and the entire day was well structured, keeping us engaged from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm with various classes and activities. It was a truly enriching experience for both mind and body. The room was very clean and well maintained. However, we did notice a few large cockroaches in the room, which scared me and my kids a bit. Apart from this, everything else was well organised and enjoyable. Overall, it is a beautiful and spiritually uplifting place, and we really appreciated the experience.

Miami
The pool slide earns its own mention in almost every family review. Villas have private BBQs, the Miami Marketta is a seven-minute walk, and buses to Surfers Paradise leave from the doorstep. A practical, affordable base for families who want to be in the middle of everything.

Bilinga
A ten-minute walk from Gold Coast Airport, this budget YHA in Bilinga is built around one purpose: the early flight. Staff are genuinely helpful, the communal kitchen is spacious, and the private rooms cover the basics. Manage expectations on the facilities and it does the job.

I recently visited Krishna Village near the Gold Coast with my wife. The location itself is quite scenic—set in a valley and somewhat hidden from the outside world. However, it is close to a river that is visibly dirty, and I would strongly advise against bathing in it. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the expectations one would have from a so-called spiritual retreat. The attitude of the receptionist was particularly disappointing. She was disengaged, avoided eye contact, and continued chatting and laughing on the phone while visitors waited. It felt like a mundane job to her rather than a place meant to welcome people with warmth or mindfulness. The property in general appears poorly maintained. Pathways are unclean, and the common areas are shabby, cluttered, and seemingly neglected for a long time. The reading area was especially disheartening—books were littered around disrespectfully. The sitting and relaxation areas were overcrowded and chaotic, with barely any proper seating available. Some visitors appeared to treat the space like a public sleeping area, which further added to the disorder. On a positive note, the food is organic and vegetarian and is not bad. That said, it felt somewhat synthetic in preparation, and exceptional taste should not be expected. Overall, aside from the natural surroundings, most facilities at this resort felt rundown and disorganised. You may want to visit once to see it for yourself, but be prepared to discover many shortcomings beyond what I’ve described.
I've been back and forth to Krishna Village, staying many times since 2018. It is such a special place. Part of what makes it special is that it is on the same property as many Brahman cows you can pat and a Krishna Temple with the most beautiful Deities. Krishna Village itself has its own grounds, a large beautiful yoga hall, a casual hang out room, an outdoor under cover dining area, and communal kitchen (in addition to the commercial kitchen used to make meals), large grass areas and of course the accom and bathrooms. The accom ranges from new, simple but comfy and clean with private porch down to self camping. I've never camped but have stayed in two different types of guest house accom. The yoga and classes hosted by Krishna Village are wonderful. The mood of the place is everything that is good and right with the world - so many different nationalities coming together to learn yoga, have fun and make lifelong connections. I travel a lot and have bumped into the friends I made at Krishna Village in northern NSW, as far away as Barcelona and Bali. The time spent at Krishna Village is special on so many levels. I always love my time there and can't wait to get back.
Mermaid ters QLD
Cloud-soft beds, a pool-facing room option, and free breakfast included in most rates. The spa family rooms are a genuine size. Staff names keep appearing in reviews, which tells you something. Dan Murphy's next door is the detail regulars don't forget to mention.
