Live rock has rattled these walls longer than most Gold Coast pubs have existed. The Wallaby Hotel in Mudgeeraba is one of the oldest on the Coast, recently refurbished but still carrying that worn-in pub energy that's hard to fake. The bistro does solid work, the barramundi gets repeated mentions, and the open-air deck with a kids' playground makes Sunday sessions genuinely family-friendly. Staff come up often in reviews, mostly warmly. Service can be hit or miss depending on who's behind the bar, so manage expectations accordingly. Ten accommodation rooms sit above the noise if you need to stay over. Prices are moderate and the food reflects that honestly. Come on a weekend when there's a band on. That's when the Wallaby makes the most sense.
Friend and I came for dinner last night and were greeted by the loveliest most helpful staff. Shout out to Chilly who went above and beyond to make sure my dietary requirements were met. Food was great and reasonably priced. Thank you for making it such an enjoyable experience.
I stopped in today for lunch with the wife and kids, nice looking little place with some history. We thought we’d be waiting awhile as it’s Sunday on a long weekend but our meals were brought out very timely and we’re all very nice. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy. Will definitely be back.
Walked into the pub the other day, straight away got treated terribly by Nadia the lady manager with black hair. I asked her if I could have a water, she then started arguing with me and speaking condescending to me about how to order water properly. She then started lecturing me on how to use my manners. Absolutely terrible customer service. Just had a terrible attitude for no reason towards me. She should be disciplined immediately. If shes there behind the bar walk out of the pub and go to a better one.

Eungella
Days run from 5am yoga to evening kirtan, with organic vegetarian meals and Brahman cows you can actually pat. Set in a mountain valley near the Gold Coast hinterland, this working spiritual community draws repeat visitors who keep coming back for the food, the people, and the temple.

Canungra
Lorikeets at breakfast, ancient rainforest trails out the door, and a spa waiting when you get back. Two hours from Brisbane, O'Reilly's has anchored the Gold Coast hinterland for a century. The setting does the heavy lifting. Come for the birds and the Box Circuit hike.

Nice bit of history and dont mind the set up. Had the Barramundi and it was great. The play ground was good for my mates kids. Pretty decent size and tables for parents to eat and watch the kids as well. Pokies, restaurant, pub and hotel. Staff were very friendly. Enjoyed the visit.
I used to frequent the Wallaby as it was a great place to hang out, especially on a Sunday with a band. I dropped in on Sunday for a quick drink with my girlfriend. No live music, the greeting and service was average at best. A house wine and a tap beer cost over $28, the beer tasted horrible, like the lines had not been cleaned and the wine was also difficult to drink. Maybe why there were not many people there. Not like the old days, will not be going back under this management.
Robina
Apartment-style rooms with full kitchens and in-unit laundry, directly across from Robina train station. The staff here get named in reviews, which is rarer than it should be. Solid choice for work trips, family visits, or anyone who needs more than just a bed.
