The sealed path down to the water is part of the appeal. No scrambling, no long slog through scrub — just a short walk to a series of cascading waterfalls and crystal-clear swimming holes carved into the rainforest floor of Currumbin Valley. The car park has toilets and picnic tables, which tells you this place gets busy. Multiple reviewers flag school holidays as a reason to stay home, and the car park fills fast on weekends. Come mid-week, or arrive early on a Saturday before the crowds settle in. A few days after decent rain is the sweet spot — the creek runs full and the water clears quickly. There's an old logging mill along the trail if you want context for what this valley used to be. Bring swimmers. The water is cold and worth it.
I absolutely love coming to this waterfall. One of the best things about it is how easy it is to access — you don’t need to walk much at all to get there. The place is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by nature, and feels very peaceful and refreshing. It’s perfect if you want to enjoy a stunning waterfall without a long or difficult hike. Definitely one of my favourite spots to relax and connect with nature 🌿💧
My wife and I had the pleasure to visit this set of waterfalls that make up the Cougal Cascade at the end of Currumbin Creek Road. Sealed all the way with a generous car park, toilet facilities and tables. The cascades can be accessed by the sealed pathway and stone steps down to each waterfall and swimming pools. A very popular spot. Be early to secure your car park. What a wonderful experience. Go and enjoy the experience.
Easy access, parking and different options for bath in the waterfalls, just be extra careful for not falling. Water was Cristal clear. Plenty of sunlight. Amazing for a refreshing day off at nature.

Mudgeeraba
Sixty-two hectares of Mudgeeraba bushland with a fenced dog park, shaded playground, and sheltered BBQ areas wired for electricity. The forest walk is better than it looks on the map, the bird life is genuinely good, and Sunday crowds are rarely a problem.

Burleigh Heads
Rainbow lorikeets, ocean views to Burleigh Headland, and free barbecues on the foreshore. Justins Park is where Burleigh locals spend their Sundays. The covered picnic shelters go fast, parking is a genuine challenge, and the beach is patrolled all year.

This place is so worth visiting! Bring your swimmers and walking shoes so you can climb down to the amazing watering holes and waterfalls! Easy walk for most people and kids. I don’t recommend going during school holidays though.
They say nature is soothing for the soul and healing for the body, and this place is no exception. Best times to visit are during the week or very early mornings/late afternoons when the limited car park is less busy. It's a great place for a nice forest walk, a refreshing dip in the water and soaking up the negative ions from the waterfalls (very good for your health and happiness). It's really nice a few days after a decent rain once the waters have cleared again and the creek is flowing nicely. Highly recommended!
Palm Beach
A pirate ship playground, calm creek swimming, and one of the Gold Coast's best off-leash dog beaches, all in one spot along Currumbin Creek. The sheltered water makes it a go-to for families with young kids when the surf is too wild.
