The putt-putt course is a small detail that tells you everything: this is a resort that actually thinks about what you do between beach visits. Three-bedroom apartments with full kitchens, separate lounges, laundry, and two car parks make this work for families doing a proper week rather than a quick overnight. The pool runs warm, the BBQ setup gets consistent praise, and Kirra Beach is directly across the road. Staff reviews are overwhelmingly warm, though one note of caution: the Wyndham timeshare pitch can follow you into your holiday if you're not firm about it upfront. The location is the real drawcard. Walk to Coolangatta, walk to Kirra, catch the bus north. You're not stranded in a resort bubble.
Couldn't find a fault over our 10 nt stay. A 3 bedroom unit gave us 2 carparks which was very convenient. Room was very comfortable & well equipped - teas, coffès, room & beach towels, dishwasher & washing liquids. This was all restocked half way through our stay. Didn't get time to use the bikes or sea craft. Pool was nice temperature. Played mini golf, used playground & bbqs (very good set up). Convenient location- across from beach, walk to Nth Kirra, Kirra & Coolangatta or use bus that goes past the property.
Loved staying here this past weekend. Room was clean, big, comfy and had a great view. Amenities are awesome-so much for kids to do (putt putt was a huge hit). Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and accomodating. We will definitely be back!
Love the resort. We were in two rooms. 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom. 2 bedroom had a great veiw. And 3 had two balconies. And had great veiws of both beach and Hinterland. Everything was clean and as our stay was more than week. They came and cleaned and made the beds in bedroom 3. Replaced towels. We did run out of toilet paper. But no biggie. The dryer didn't work in 2 bedroom. But we just used the 3 bedroom to dry. Don't like the black benches. Speckled. Kept trying to clean it off. But all in all we had a great time. And will return and recommend Kirra to anyone. Just minor issues.

Days run from 5am yoga to evening kirtan, with organic vegetarian meals and Brahman cows you can actually pat. Set in a mountain valley near the Gold Coast hinterland, this working spiritual community draws repeat visitors who keep coming back for the food, the people, and the temple.

Seventy minutes from Brisbane and several degrees cooler, Binna Burra Lodge sits above World Heritage rainforest in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The Sky Lodge balcony views stop people mid-sentence. The cafe beef burger is reason enough to ride out on a Thursday.

The Gold Coast doesn't have to be expensive. From free swimming holes in Currumbin Valley to pub lunches that won't embarrass you, the southern stretch of the coast is one of Queensland's better-value destinations when you know where to go. Here's how to spend under $100 a day and not feel like you're missing anything.
The humidity breaks in late March and the Gold Coast hinterland becomes a different place entirely. Cooler air, lush post-summer green, and trails that are actually enjoyable. This is the season for longer walks, outdoor lunches that last into the afternoon, and harvest-fresh produce at the farm gate. Here is how to make the most of it, and why you need to book early if Easter is on your radar.
The hinterland is quieter than the coast. For solo travellers, that is the whole point. From organic day spas in Mudgeeraba to valley cafés where the tortoises are more interesting than the other diners, here is how to do the Gold Coast Hinterland alone, and do it well.
Most visitors drive straight to the beach and miss everything else. The Gold Coast's southern suburbs and hinterland hold a different kind of destination: a pastry café by a creek, a wildlife park that beats the famous one, rock pools the tourists haven't found yet, and a heritage-village spa that locals guard quietly. Here is the list.
Seriously have to tone down their selling of the time-share, called us 50 times literally, and Brad on reception is rude second time there. Also lost licence, at reception. Pool is nice, heated. Was on holidays didn't need to be harassed happened at surfers Wyndham too.
Had a wonderful week at Kirra. The staff were lovely, the room was fantastic. We were told we would only have a partial view of the water. We could see it from our balcony and our bedroom. It had a full kitchen and a seperate lounge room annd laundry. All very well appointed.

Cloud-soft beds, a pool-facing room option, and free breakfast included in most rates. The spa family rooms are a genuine size. Staff names keep appearing in reviews, which tells you something. Dan Murphy's next door is the detail regulars don't forget to mention.
The hinterland is not just a couples escape. Wildlife encounters, rock pool swimming, trampoline parks, and family-friendly dining make it one of the Gold Coast's best days out for kids of any age. Here is how to plan it properly, in the right order, without spending the day in the car.
